Character Education: Learning the Positive Path

Why Character Education Is Important

Until recently, most people didn't recognize the importance of character education or the positive impact it could have on their lives. They'd say things like this about their behavior:

"Character education? I’m fine just the way I am.”

"Our kids don't need character education, we set a nice example for them."

"I know my child... if he has a problem, he'll come to me."

In most cases, children don't learn positive behavior at school. And sometimes a proper example just isn't enough to offset all the negative influences that can lead people to make bad choices.

That's why this online Character Course was developed—as a convenient aid to parents, and teachers trying to help children better manage the turbulent pre-teen and adolescent years. Online character education works because, unlike other character education courses you may find online, this one talks directly to the kids. There are also courses for parents  to learn how to be the best parents they can be. As a result, kids come out on the other side as well-adjusted young adults.

Our character courses don’t focus just on children and families. We also offer programs to employers to build cohesive workplaces. We not only teach concepts like honesty and responsibility in the workplace, but we take it a step further. Throughout the training, we explain the consequences and benefits of each action, whether the action is positive or negative. By laying out these potential courses of actions and discussing the pros and cons of each, we help employees to think through their behavior and willingly make the right choice. Can You Really Teach Character to Children... Online?

Character education is vital to children, especially to the troubled, out of control child. An online behavior-learning program is the ideal vehicle to deliver character education. Online courses allow children to talk freely about the hot-button issues of their lives: sex, drugs, alcohol, smoking, bullying, anger, trying to fit in, and more. It gives them a safe place where they can share their thoughts with others, without risk of judgment or disappointing their parents.

Positive behavior learning helps kids reframe their conflicts in a new way—a peaceful, responsible way that respects others and themselves. These tools give today’s young people the ability to rise above the trials, troubles and temptations they face every day.

A True Story About Two Lives Changed By Our Character Courses

Lynn W. was an out of control child, smoking, drinking and pregnant by 15. As an adult, she saw her son going down the same path and was terrified he'd end up in prison. So Lynn enrolled them both in our character education course—and it turned their lives around:

"(This program) has taken someone like me, who didn’t even know what a positive character trait was, had no self esteem, and made choices that I always regretted later, to what I am today: a positive, joyful, successful mother. For the first time, I felt confident that my son had an opportunity to make a positive future for himself. If that wasn’t enough, my boss was so impressed with my new attitude, I got a promotion!" -Lynn W.

Can parents and teachers really teach character to kids? Yes!
