Character Courses Help Kids Handle Teenage Peer Pressure
By Teaching Respect And How To Control Self
Pre-teen and
teenage peer pressure is a powerful force in the lives of young people.
It requires an equally powerful force to counteract the negative
influences our children are exposed to every day.
Our online
character courses have been proven highly effective at teaching
respect, conflict resolution, how to control self and resist peer
pressure, and overall character development.
This
five-part Character Course is intended for
use by either teachers or parents of children in the 12 to 19 age
range. A trained and experienced instructor will work with them via
Internet and telephone in small groups of no more than ten at a time.
It's a highly
interactive environment that permits visual demonstrations and detailed
explanations with time for questions and answers – in other words,
similar to a real classroom setting.
But these aren't
the usual dry, academic classroom lectures about faraway problems.
They're discussions about real life situations your kids are dealing
with everyday:
The five course
units are all about teaching respect, self-respect, acceptance,
responsibility, anger management and how to control self when everyone
else is losing it. (Read a more detailed summary of each unit in
the course.)
It's important
to note that these course units instill moral
values and not religious values, so young people of all beliefs will
benefit.
What You Get
With Each Unit
Our Character
Course is based on the highly successful Peaceful Solution Character
Education Program®,
which promotes peace
through education that encourages positive character. Each of the five
units in the course includes the following:
-
A minimum of one hour of instruction per week for seven weeks via web
conferencing and telephone.
-
One student workbook for each unit (shipping included).
-
Assignments that stimulate the mind.
-
Unlimited email support as needed.
-
A certificate upon completion of the course.

How It Works
After you
purchase one or more of the courses listed below, you will receive an
email containing all the course information and a start date. The
workbook will immediately be sent to you by mail. You will be asked to
have the workbook available for each online class. You can attend class
wherever you have access to a phone and a computer with Internet
connection.
On the start date
of the course, simply log onto the web seminar site. You'll be able to
see the instructor giving demonstrations on your computer while you
hear the lesson over the phone line.
They Learn
Because They're Engaged
These courses
engage young people with interesting subject matter that's relevant to
their everyday lives. They find they can open up and discuss touchy
issues like drugs and sex in ways they may not be able to with parents
or other adults.
In fact, it may
end up being the most valuable hour your child or student spends each
week... an hour that will stay with them a lifetime.
